What Can I do for You:
My consultancy services are there to assist you when you are looking for :

ideas,
information,
methods,
choices,
comparisons,
problem solving,
understanding of just how something in your garden could be done and the ramifications of doing it that way,
how to get there, what will need to be done step by step
estimate of time frames for the desired results, staging,
outcomes (i.e. how will it look in 5 or 10 years),
choice of species,
sources of materials,
where to put what plants and why,
how to bring your ideas to fruition.

First steps and stages in a consultancy:

Creating a mudmap with useable information that a contractor or yourself can use to implement your ideas.

A set of your hand written notes. (Some people use tape recorders or video cameras as well)

Some standards or specifications for your particular garden,either on a do-it-yourself basis or for a contractor to quote on.

Consultancy rate $120 for the first hour and pro rata after that; or hourly rate plus travel (depending on where you live).

Sandards or specifications for your particular garden or for a contractor to quote on.

Regular followup with pertinent information.

Follow up from a first consultancy

A formal design, to scale that a contractor or yourself to work from should you require it.

It is quite common for people to receive second and third consultancies over time as their property develops and they want evaluation of 'how they are going' and a new input of ideas.

Sometimes people like to get more than one initial consultancy from designer consultants with different life's experience. I can suggest two such consultants.

To assist you to gain the most from a consultancy;

I observe and assess your site and it's microclimate, then work from ‘The List’ you have prepared in advance.

The List is for writing down, ‘concretizing’ your ideas, dreams, desires, intent, yields required, criteria, so that when I consult all the things you have thought of so far get to be discussed during the consultancy.

I suggest that the list begins with a sheet of paper with it's initial ideas being placed in your fridge or somewhere equally prominent where you will notice it and add new information as you think of it.

Allow yourself to dream, to feel, to smell and list information as it comes up. No censoring – this can happen in the consultancy, right now you are creating the raw material for your new garden – feel free to dream. See you there!
